Mission: Halloween and Hogsmead

ON

Professor MacAulay heard several reports of the fight between Reginald Price and Barnabus Collins. There'd been far too many incidents recently -- most notably the one between Evan Cross and Reginald Price.

So, she decided it was time to put a stop to it. She called both Barny and Reginald to her office to have a little talk with them.

Barny knocked on the office door, which was partly open. "Professor, I'd wanted to talk to you, but was summoned here before I could come on my own."

Reginald walked into the officer, a few moments after Barny. He didn't know where to begin. He had to hide his tracks very well on this one and he wasn't looking forward to it. He had to stick to his guns and avoid getting anyone into further trouble.

Barny came in as he was bade. "I'd like to file a complaint against the Slytherin 5th Year Prefect, He's stalking my cousin, Jen, and when I tried to find out why from him He attacked me, Grabbed me by the throat and threatened me with a sparking wand. I'm afraid that I acted in self defense and when he threw me to the ground, I grabbed his shirt-front and threw him. I gained some distance between us and he said he was taking 50 points from Gryffindor, and a month's detention on me. I'd gladly accept the month's detention for fighting, but I don't quite think the point punishment to the house is fair for acting in self defense, and I don't think he should get off scott-free either."

"I never put my hands on him. I walked closer to him, Professor and he grabbed me and threw me off. Not to mention, Ma'am, he accused me of stalking Jennifer Collins. I simply let my snake wander around, as he likes, and the next thing I know His Falcon is screeching and about to attack my snake." Reginald spoke loudly and firmly as he pointed to Barny. "He put his hands on a prefect! I demand my punishment stays. Do not believe his lies about me attacking him. He is clearly trying to slander my because of my house. I demand his bird be placed in the stable and no allowed to leave because its is a danger to my state and the rats of other students." He crossed his arms over his chest. "And If you change my punishment or also accuse me of laying a hand on him I will see to it that the Governors hears of this and accept your resignation due to person bias."

Jennifer? Maggie pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote a quick note. She folded it into a paper airplane and waved her wand. The plane flew out the door in search of Jennifer.

"Sit DOWN, Mr. Price. If you threaten me again I'll personally see to it that you receive detention for the rest of year. Do I make myself clear?" She glared at Barny. "That goes for you, too, Mr. Collins. Sit."

"Mr. Collins, why do you think Mr. Price is stalking your ... cousin?"

Barny sat, "First, that He was sneaking around, hiding behind a tree watching Jennifer and Myself. He can obviously talk to his snake, and the snake was making enough of a beeline to us that my falcon acted to defend us. It landed between the two of us and screeched and postured to warn the snake off. Beyond that, I'm new, from America, and think that everyone deserves to be judged separately, I have nothing against Slytherin right now, I wasn't raised to hate them, really I think the between house fighting is a bit silly." Barny shut up then, realizing what he said might cause trouble for him.

"Mr. Price? What is your side of this?"

"Professor, his falcon is a danger to any animal around this school. If it's going to defend him then he needs to learn the difference between attacking and approaching. Rasputin isn't has never attacked anyone on school grounds. I was allowing Rasputin to slither outside and he happened to get closer to Miss Collin's and her cousin Berny here. His falcon came down and he pulled his wand out on my snake. Jennifer, had to yell at him to not harm my snake because it was my pet. She picked him up and walked off with him. When I went after her to get him, this one, begins to accuse me of spying and stalking his cousin." He tried to sound as insulted as possible. He needed to play the victim off even though he was the instigator. "I told him that I wasn't doing any of that things and that I was the last person who he needed to be concerned about. As I began to walk to get my snake, this goofy looking mad man grabbed my and threw me onto the ground. I had no intention of attack him but after that I fought the temptation to. I gave him his punishment and deducted points from his house. I send you the report, Professor."

Maggie looked at the rolled parchment on her desk. "Oh, yes."

Just then there was a knock on the door and Jennifer walked in. "You wanted to see me..." Her voice trailed off when she saw Reg and Ben.

"Yes. It seems these two had a bit of a disagreement outside revolving around you and Mr. Price's snake. Mr. Collins claims that Mr. Price is stalking you. Mr. Price claims that Mr. Collins bird threatened his snake. What is your side to all this?"

Jen looked from one boy to the other. Oh, dear. "I'm not being stalked by Reg or anyone else," she assured them. "I've managed to stand up for myself against him and Peter. I don't feel threatened. I appreciate Barny's concern, but I'm quite capable of taking care of myself."

"Did you see the fight?" MacAulay asked.

"No. When the bird landed, I took Rasputin so he wouldn't get hurt." And so Reg would behave, but she wasn't going to add that.

Barny looked surprised that Jen didn't see Reg's hiding behind a tree and sending his snake in to be stalking or at least spying. There was something off here, some key piece that he wasn't getting.

"You didn't feel threatened by the snake?" Maggie asked.

"No. I've nothing to fear from the snake. Even my pygmy puff was more disturbed by the bird than the snake." She gave an apologetic smile to Barny. "She's never met your bird before and wasn't sure what to make of it. It is a predator, after all."
