Mission: Yule!
Location: Great Hall

Reginald slowly leaned in forward and whispered into her ear. "The man of your dreams in disguise." He spoke to her in Parcelmouth. That would have been a dead give away, but it didn't matter since it was her and no one else would hear them. As far as he was concerned the act was moving along nicely.

Jennifer dropped her head to his shoulder. It wouldn't matter that she did as everyone assumed she and Evan were dating. She whispered a word in parseltongue that Rasputin taught her. She was both relieved and concerned. "What if they catch you?" she whispered. "I don't want you to get in trouble." At the same time, she stepped closer and wrapped her free hand around the back of his neck. It was nice to have him here with her.

"Would it matter if I told you I didn't care about getting into trouble." He whispered to her and then looked around. Reginald gave her a bit of a spin and then brought her close again. "This time... I wanted to make sure we both had a good time. As long as I keep acting like this, everything will be fine."

"What do you mean by make sure we both had a good time?" she whispered.

Pandora stared toward Jennifer and supposedly Evan. Something wasn't right but she couldn't place what. Well aside from the fact that they were being a lot more cozy than normal for the two of them in public. Something else was wrong though the hair, the height, she wasn't quite sure. She debated casting a spell to cancel any spells cast just to see what would happened. If nothing funny was going on then nothing would change but if something was she could find out. For now she continued to watch.

"At the Halloween Party, you and I both know that it would have been more fun for us if we could have acted the way we normally do. I just figured that since this was a Masquerade party, if I came as someone else and danced with you then no one would be the wiser." Reginald said softly under his breath and with a smile as they continued to dance.

"True," she said, dancing a little closer so no one could hear them talk. "I would rather be here with you than with Evan, but what happens when it's time to unmask?"

"Unmask?" Reginald smiled as he looked at her with a slight laugh. "We don't need to unmask. It's a Masquerade Party." He danced with her some more and then slowed down a bit. "Right?" He said softly as he sounded slightly nervous.

"Traditionally, everyone unmasks at midnight," she assured him. "We'll just make sure we're not here at midnight." She shrugged, trying to lessen Reg's nervousness.

Reginald nodded. He was starting to think that this plan wasn't as well thought out as he planned. Then again it was understandable. He always seemed to escape Masquerade Balls whenever his parents would throw one, or be invited to one, Reg always made it a habit to vanish mid way through. They were never his thing to begin with.

Pandora's attention turned away from the dance floor a moment. She heard two other students talking. "It's a shame that Evan got sick tonight of all nights. He's missing all the fun." Pandora heard one of them say. She raised her eyebrow and turned her attention toward Jennifer and the one she danced with once more. Evan is sick and Reginald is no where to be found. She stood and quietly slipped out of the great hall. She wanted to see for sure that Evan was in the hospital wing before she did anything hasty.

Jennifer turned to Reg. "What's Pandora up to? She just turned and hurried out of the ball."

Peter heard her comment as he and Alena danced by. "It's because you make her sick, Collins. You and Grant should just do us all a favor and go jump off the Astronomy Tower."

Reginald stood there quietly for a moment. His reaction was to hold out and his wand and hit Peter with a spell, but that would just cause more problems. In a bit of an unexpected move, he took a step to Peter and stared him down. He smiled, but his gaze wasn't nice. Reginald kept his look at Peter and then just turned to walk away.

---elsewhere in the castle----

Mr Rogers was in the bathroom putting the finishing touches on his own dress robes. He fished a US flag lapel pin and affixed it to his cape. " Looking good!" he said to himself

While high above him, away from the noise and the bustle of the dance, Professor Temur paced the Astronomy Tower. Normally she was one of the first at the Yule Ball. She had been for almost every senior year while attending Hogwarts as a student. But then again she wasn't feeling herself - she hadn't for a long time. Not since that day... Turning from her thoughts, Jihana leaned against the rock archway by the balcony, looking out. Sighing, she crossed her arms over her chest within the thick brown robes she always wore. Today she would allow herself some peace and quiet away from the ball and the other people at Hogwarts. After all, that was why she had returned to Hogwarts.

---Inna gadda da vida---

Jason saw the pair walk out into the garden and muttered to himself "Geez, did they even dance a single time before sneaking out?" He watched them find one of the secluded spots and let them settle for a minute or two, then stepped to them with his boots. He made his wand spark for light, then looked at them and said a little loudly, "10 points each from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. Get back inside, there will be plenty of time for this once you've graduated."

Millie was meant to be at the Yule Ball. But she had other plans. She wanted to see how Craig was doing and ever since their big fight she had been watching him, observing what he does and generally keeping out of the way. She had followed him to the grounds where he was sitting on a bench with Rachel, one of her Quidditch team members. For a minute Millie thought of Sacking Rachel, but then remembered she was one hell of a chaser.
