Mission: New Semester
Location: Quidditch Pitch
Timeline: New Semester

Millie sighed as she held onto her broom that morning. She was standing looking at the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Today was the big match, this was the day they would face Slyherin. It was early January and a blanket of frost still laid upon the ground and icicles were hanging down from the bottom of the Quidditch Hoops. Millie knew that Slytherin had some good players and last year they had missed the cup by only a few points. If only I was a little faster... she thought.

"Ok team" She said looking around at them. "We've got a hard match out there. Its cold, theres a slight breeze and the Sytherins will show no mercy. Are you all with me?" she asked.

"We're with you, MIllie!" Fiona replied cheerfully. She wasn't sure if they could beat Slytherin, but she was sure going to do her best to block the quaffle.

Bullah (R-6th, Beater) let out an undulating war-whoop from his Samoan heritage as he grinned and swung his paddle in the air. The paddle seemed ridiculously small in his bulky hands, almost as if it was a toy paddle, until it was compared with those around him. People made fun of Bullah for his size and weight, just not to his face, because a good portion of that weight was in that barrel chest and arms as big around as a normal person's thighs.

Rasheed (R-4th, Chaser) was as quiet as Bullah was loud. He smiled sheepishly at the crowds as he went with the rest of the team. Once on the pitch and in the air, he would lose himself to the game and be a tiger, almost the complete reverse of his normal self, but for now he was still the mousish boy that kept to himself and his studies.

Alena sat, in the stands. She had chuckled, when a Ravenclaw first year had tried to tell her that her friend, Muriel Watkins, was a meanie head. Alena noted that the first year was currently throwing up flaming slugs, into a metal bucket, in the Ravenclaw stands.

She cheered, when Watkins, and Peter, walked out on to the field.

Bre and Satele sat in the Gryffendor Stands, hoping to see Slyrherin loose miserably. Bre was glad to be takeing a brake from studying for a while, but Satele has brought along a couple of her books on potions to read while the game played through.

Barny sat in the stands, he'd never really just sat and watched the games before, but Fiona was playing, so he'd come out. He'd picked up a big bag of popcorn and a big soda before coming out. He offered some of the popcorn to the twins who were sitting beside him.

Kelly sat in the stands, she'd never really watched Quidditch, or any other sport for that matter, so she didn't really know much about it. But Sam had asked her to come and after the way things had turned out during the Yule Ball. Well she felt sorry for him. Being alone over Christmas hadn't helped much either, she'd been relying on her family to take her home for the holidays at the very least, if not spend it with her. She shivered, wishing she had a better jacket. She hadn't had a chance to get one over the Christmas holidays.

Pandora took her place in the stands sporting Slytherin colors. She hoped they were able to win this match.

Cassandra took a place among the crowd. She was hoping Ravenclaw would win just to put Slytherin in their place for once.

Roddrick hated quidditch. He hated all sports really, but in particular quidditch. All the rules and regulations that kept you from doing what needed to be done to insure victory. He did however know the importance of being seen in the expected places, so he was in his seat, wearing his house colors, and waving a small banner with the prerequisite level of "enthusiasm."

Jennifer was bundled in her warmest cloak and scarf. This would be the first game she could cheer for Reg without worrying about what others thought.

[On the field]

Muriel nudged Peter, and pointed to a Ravenclaw student. "Look! Alena's work!" She said, with a chuckle.

Gabe watched this from the Hufflepuff stands laughing a little.

Peter looked up and grinned at Alena before turning his focus back to the game.

Millie led the Ravenclaw team out onto the frosty pitch. She looked straight at Peter knowing full well that this match was going to be one hell of a fight between the two teams. She also knew that Peter was stronger than her, yet she was faster and more agile hence her position as the seeker. She was hoping that he didn't try and crush her hand when they shook hands like the last time she had played him.

"Allrighty. Captain', shake hands." Rogers said. " Let's keep it clean." he added.

Millie reluctantly held out her hand to shake with Peter. She knew however this wouldn't mean anything once they were up in the air.

Peter shook her hand, grinning as he watched her face. He knew what she expected. This time, he just shook her hand. No squeezing, no pranks. He was going to beat her by outplaying her so she'd have no excuse for her pitiful performance.

Millie looked him straight in the eyes.
"Ready to play Peter. No tricks?" She asked quietly so only they would hear.

"Why would I need to use tricks? You aren't good enough to even consider cheating," he sneered.

Millie was surprised at Peter's response of no tricks. Of course she knew that it might just be luring her into a false sense of security. She quickly kicked off from the ground and flew high into the air as the whistle blew. Instantly she switched into her seeker mode scouring the pitch for the small golden ball that was whizzing around. Her counterpart was only a second year, easy for such a 'qualified' seeker as her.

[To be continued]
