Mission: New Semester
Location: Library
Timeline: Thursday before Hogsmeade weekend before Valentine's

Barny was nervous. Ben had given him idea for something to do with Fiona on Valentine's. He'd been told about a tea shop in Hogsmeade that was especially for couples, where they could sit talk, get to know one another and even hold hands. Barny had asked Ben if he was going to take Pandora there as well, not being hurtful, but Barny wanted his friend to be happy too. Ben had made quick excuses instead of answering, so Barny thought he was too embarrassed, or else he hadn't thought about it and was going to rush to find Pandora.

Barny steeled himself up, funny how stiff and formal things seemed after the dance, as if having taken a few baby steps forward, they now had to crawl through a minefield. He reached out across the table and brushed Fiona's hand to get her attention.

She looked up from her textbook and raised an eyebrow. "What?" she asked.

"Hogsmeade weekend is coming up, and a friend suggested this tea shop there. He said it was a good place to talk and get to know one another, and even hold hands." Barny blushed a bit at the mention of it. "I mean it's the last one before valentine's and I wanted to do something special with you. Lately we've been in here studying more than anything else."

"Well, yeah. Hogwarts is only seven years, then we have the rest of our lives to build on what we did -- or didn't -- do in school." She sighed. "Barny, I'd love to go to Hogsmeade with you."

Barny smiled happily, "Thanks, Fiona." He couldn't keep the goofy smile off his face as he did his best to play catch up on the herbology classes. He'd finally gotten to talk to professor Longbottom, who had given him a list of books that would help, and he was making up for lost time.

Fiona smiled and opened another text book and began to read.

Barny hoped the tea shop would be nice. It was down one of the side streets that he hadn't gone in, had always gone past instead. After the date, he'd have to remember to thank Ben properly. After all, what could go wrong over a cup of tea...
