Mission: September 1 A new Beginning
Location: Great Hall

ON

Professor MacAulay stood in front of the Great Hall. The four champions who had managed to complete the course and return to Hogwarts sat on the front row. "It took some doing, but we found Miss Penny. She is currently in La Paz, a city in Bolivia. Someone changed the portkey."

Heartseed looked concerned as well, "That's not the only issue, though, a ward that has stood for two generations or so were taken down with no sign of who did it or how. We only found out because when we contacted the Brazilian school to see if they could collect her, They asked if we wanted our own four wayward students back as well. Seems the S.E.P. ward that kept the port to Brazil hidden went poof."

"Until we learn what happened and restore the wards, all students will be restricted to official areas of the school. No exploring and no wandering through unused corridors," Maggie added.

Jacen was confused, "wouldn't it be prudent to reseal the pathway to Brazil to prevent any other students disappearing? Also, what's going to happen with the Tournament?"

"There have been several meetings about that. We are going to award the four of you that finished equal points for the final challenge." She gave a stern glance at Maurelle Valentina. "The decision was not unanimous. Hogwarts is the clear champions as they were the only team to complete the competition. However, Mr. Targaryen, will receive a medal of commendation for sticking with the competition in spite of difficult challenges and a more difficult team."

Jennifer grinned and began to clap. Shortly the rest of the assembled students were clapping for Jacen.

Looking around at the students clapping, Jacen turned his attention back to Maggie, "thank you, but I do not deserve this honour. Hogwarts won fair and square, I am merely the last surviving member of my team"

"That's true," Maggie said. "But you showed an incredible amount of integrity during the challenge. And you worked with the other students on the last challenge. Therefore, you deserve to be honored as well as the Hogwarts Champions."

Jacen sighed, "very well"

Maggie chuckled. "Now, please join me in congratulating the Hogwarts Champions for winning this year's Tournament."

There was general applause and a few cheers for the winners. Maggie waited for the noise to die down a bit. "Now, a few words from Professor Heartseed."

"Ummm, pie?" Heartseed looked around, and seeimg that those weren't the proper words, began again, "The challenges this time through were beset by many different problems, interferene by outside parties of many different kinds, most luckily were not purposeful. Through it all, the four people before you stood firm in the face of adversity, though officially not part of the team, Master Jacen worked well with the challengers from Hogwarts to rescue his team mate, despite her best efforts to not be rescued. Further, his making it to the end and not falling to the trap that his team mate did. We of the panel are in agreement that you are also a champion, with full rights and privledges thereof.

Everyone in the Great Hall stood and cheered.

"And now, to celebrate," Maggie said. She waved her wand and the tables were filled with pies, cakes and pastries. Pitchers of pumpkin juice and bottles of butterbeer lined the center of the table.

"Enjoy your celebration. Classes continue as usual on Monday morning."
