Back to Normal?

Mission: Another School Year, Another ...

OOC: This is for the day after the magical failure.

The hustle and bustle of getting to class was not all that different for Maxwell; he had the mechanical clock and alarm kept him on his schedule. The alarm sounded enough to get him awake and on his morning routine. He had gotten dressed; his small satchel of the slips of paper ready for use, and with a sweeping motion he drew his wand out from the post at the head of his bed not unlike a foil in his hand he followed the daily tradition with his wand. He also noticed that the feeling from his wand returned, his magic seemed to be back to a degree.
“At least I can perhaps create the spells right if the magic is back .” He commented and grabbed his bag as he is leaving.
He went to the small box he had adapted to place the small Faye; he glanced into the bed and found that she had vanished. He checked around the room looking for her.

“Where did she go?” He asked with a little bafflement but did not have time give a better search.

It was a fast bit of washing before he was down to get some quick breakfast and then he was off to his first class like every other day at Hogwarts. The fact the wands and other magic failed he found himself not as affected as some of his fellow Gryffindor students. He wolfed down the food at his breakfast, glad that he missed Kairi at breakfast, she would not have been happy that he misplaced a wounded Fairy. His day was not as good as it could have been, but he did have his magic back and if he hurried a bit might be able to get gone before Kairi arrives and asks him about Lotus Blossom. Maxwell wanted to get through his first class before he was grilled over a fire about losing the wounded little person.

Robin was in a hasten pace as he left the Great Hall for his first class in Herbology.

Kairi was not far behind the bustling red and black robes of the 'Red Robin' from Gryffindor. Herbology was a shared class of theirs and was a perfect chance to check up on the little 'Blossom of the Lotus' as Maya called her.

"Morning Robin!" She called as she fussed with her robes. She fluffed her self up and tucked it in more, especially when there was a chance of being around the Slytherin boys. "How's that little 'house guest'? i hope she's been able to get some rest, she looked ever the worse for wear."

Keesha couldn't help stopping periodically during breakfast to giggle with happiness. It was so weird the night before to not have magic. Which, with her ignominous beginning, made her realize how far she'd come since her first year. She took her time enjoying hte hot meal and had to grab her books and run to make it to her first class on time.

Jennifer was tired. She'd been up most of the night helping the Professors -- except for the two hours she slept on Reg's lap. She was leaning against him as she ate her breakfast. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep, preferably with Reg as her pillow, but that was not likely to happen any time soon. Not the sleep and definitely not the Reg pillow. Fortunately, she had a light day, only four classes and none had assignments due. She finished her breakfast and rose. "Time for class. See you at dinner."

"I'll come with you," Fiona said, picking up her stack of books and heading for the doors with Jen.

Professor MacAulay did not have a class during the first period of the day. It allowed her to be available for students and to be in the halls if any dawdled after breakfast.

Today, however, she was on the lookout for lingering affects from the magical blackout of the night before. Or, if possible, a cause. In the history of Hogwarts there had been nothing like the cancellation of magic of the night before. Fortunately, the older and more powerful magicks were still in effect. The castle itself was secure and protected. Although the paintings had been locked in their frames, they had not been turned into Muggle portraits, nor had they experienced any lingering effects. All the portraits, ghosts, and magical creatures were now on the lookout for an explanation -- or a culprit. Maggie was not so sure this was a natural phenomenon. It it had been, surely in the history of wizardry there would have been some indication of this happening before. But from all she'd learned so far, there was nothing.

Allie was just finishing her breakfast of eggs and toast, then headed to her first class. Losing her magic had scared her, but she wasn't about to admit it. What she really wanted to look in her Hogwarts history books to see if this had in fact happened before. She entered the classroom and sat down, but her mind really wasn't on the subject.

A bell rang, indicating that classes had begun for the day. Maggie paused for a moment nad smiled. It was good to have things back to normal -- she just hoped they would stay that way.
