Do you believe in Magic

Posted on Friday, 30th of October, 2015 @ 2:20am by Professor Euphemias Joseph

Mission: Another School Year, Another ...
Location: Muggle Studies Classroom
Timeline: Class before Ball

The class were in their seats apparently when Joseph came into the room; it seemed to be the way he liked his class, The teacher should be the last one in the class. He put his satchel on top of the dsk and drew out his trusted chalk to place upon the chalk board rail at the bottom.

Turning tro the class he was in higher spirits today, he had the Ball to attend ;something he had not done in ages, not since he had attended Hogwarts as a Slytherin student. HE only wished his departed wife could have been here but that was a forlorn hope as she had passed. Joseph must get along with his life. Coming to Hogwarts is a major way to get him back on some sort of a track.

“In my first class we spoke of the most powerful magic in the world.” HE walk in front of his desk. “Does anyone remember that which is the most powerful Magic that is sought by Muggles, Witch and Wizard alike?”

“Love...” A girl in the first row said with a slight blush. “You said none of us would be here were it not for that magic.”

“Very good.” Joseph smiled for the quick answer.

“Does anyone know the disadvantage of that power?” He asked.

“We cannot really harness that power readily.” A strapping man in the back of the room.

“Correct.” Joseph said. “Now when it comes to Muggles they do not really need to harness the Magic of Love...” He chuckled. “It comes to them quite naturally, they have the ability to be controlled by it yet not control it.”

Joseph moved along the front of his class as he spoke, making eye contact with random students. “The Muggle have only one type of magic they really seek to have, Love is the only thing that they refer to as just that … magic.” He stopped in the center of the room. “Where do you think the strongest source of the magic is?”

The class began to look at him then to one another for a long moment.

“Do I need to give you the answer?” He used as he stepped towards a group of girls in the front row.

The heart?” Someone blurted out.

“Half way there.” HE said with a raised index finger as though making a point. “You are on the right track.” He winked to the girls and then put his hands upon the desk and smiled. “Do you believe in magic… “ HE began. “in a young girl's heart, how the music can free her when it starts...”

The girls were focused on him as he stood and backed away slightly, the girls wee not blushing but there is a flush to their faces.

“Why is it in a girl's heart?” A male student asked with a snobbish tone.

“I'll tell you about the magic and it will free your soul.” He continued as he started to look all around the room and pointed his finger to emphasize his point. “But it's like tryin' to tell a stranger about Rock and roll...” He left the statement hanging while crossing back to the desk.

The chalk rose from the rail and hovered near the chalkboard while Joseph thought of his next point.

“Almost every Muggle have a unique connection to the magic they seek; it comes out in not just their writing but more in their ...” He turned to pose the question. “Anyone want to guess?”

“Speech...” A voice chimed in.

“Poetry?” Another asked.

“Not every Muggle likes poetry, as a general rule only those with passions really apprechate poetry.” He moved his fingers to write a large word on the board.

“Music?” The class nearly said in unison.

“To prove my point I bring the wisdom of a group who were famous for a song that stated 'We built this city on rock and roll...” Joseph told them and held his hand so the chalk can be ready to write.

“You have to be kidding?” The voice asked from the back. “Music, really the most powerful magic is in a Girl's heart and Music?”

“And I quote.” He began to write in the air as the chalk put the words on the board.

Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl's soul.
Believe in the magic of Rock and Roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free…

The class just stare at him.

“This is the way that the Muggles connect with their Magic is through Music; once you step outside these walls and into the world of the Muggle just take note how many people are listening to music, it is used to sell ideas, to express feelings and just tap the most powerful Magic in any world. There is a lyric that states the belief of the Muggles.

'How the magic's in the music and the music is in me.' The chalk wrote on the board then he gesture for the chalk to be put away.

“In conclusion I read you this...” The pamphlet came out of his bag, he put on his bifocals and opened the pages.

'My mind's made up by the way I feel.' Joseph glanced up at the end before continuing.
'There's no beginning, there'll be no end.' He looked up again with a slight smirk and continued.
'Cause on my love you can depend.' He concluded.

He closed the papers and rest them in a casual way in his left arm.

“Music is the Muggles connection to the expression of Love's most powerful Magic through Rock and Roll. “ He paused to look all around. “Your assignment before the next class is to find the style of Rock and Roll that best moves you to dance, sing or want to ...” He glanced to the girls again for a second. “Believe in the magic in young girl's hearts.” He started to turn and stopped. “And gentlemen, if music is the way to a young girl's heart think about that while at the Ball and maybe siege that chance to find that magic ...” He chuckled as he wiggle the finger as a warning. “If you inspire the the young woman's heart; I did it...” He thought of his wife. “Right once and .. it was a belief I enjoyed for over three decades.”

Professor Joseph rounded his desk. “And the Brave soul who can write a report on the experience and tell the class gets double points next time… Class Dismissed.”
